1959 MG A 1500/1600 Special

An older frame up restoration of an ex-SCCA racer. It was campaigned competitively in Southern California by Peter Silverbrand in the early sixties. It features a modified 1961 1622 block and head with an external oil cooler. Rebuilt transmission with close ratio gear set, rebuilt limited slip rear end, heavy duty shocks and sway bars, Twin Cam disc brakes, over $6k invested in May 2011 for complete brake system, electrical and clutch system overhauls. Dunlop wheels, new stainless exhaust, rubber, tires, bumpers. Custom fairing for show use. All trim and brightwork have been re-chromed or re-polished, Moto-Lita steeering wheel. The interior was reupholstered in tan leather with matching tonneau cover and cloth soft top with new black carpets.
