1965 Chevrolet II Nova
This Chevy II was purchased brand new in 1965 next door to our showroom at Ellis-Brooks Chevrolet. It has spent its whole garaged life in San Francisco. The 94k miles on the odometer are original. The current owner ran a service station in the city and has maintained the car since 1968 when the first owner began taking it in to him. He subsequently purchased the car in 1987. It retains the 283 2-bbl V8, 4-speed, rear end, CA black plates, Ellis Brooks plate frame, trunk tag, spare tire, service book with Protect-O-Plate, interior and glass it left the showroom with. The doors, rockers and chassis are 100% rust free. According to the owner it has never been hit or painted. He used a treatment applied during waxing to preserve the Medium Red color. We examined it with our calibrated paint meter and it measures 2-4 mils across the entire car which makes this story entirely plausible. Within the last 100 miles the seller had a new replacement clutch fitted. Of the 122,800 Novas built in 1965 only 9,100 were SS models. The fact that this car is not an SS but has the 4-speed, 283 and bench seat quite possibly makes it one of the rarest, if not, most original 1965 Novas you will find.
